Shelob  Shelob is a giant Spider living in the pass between Minas Morgul and the Tower of Cirith Ungol. She is an ancient creature who has for a long time guarded the entrance to Mordor by her presence. She feeds upon orcs and other helpless creatures unlucky enough to get too close to her or her webs. When she met with Frodo and Sam, she was forced to flee for the first time in many years. Shelob in LotR was described as ´the last child of Ungoliant to trouble the unhappy world´.
